One final tradition is an engagement gift given to the groom by the bride. He’s given her a dazzling ring to show off; it’s only proper that she respond in kind. The most traditional gift is a watch engraved with his initials or the date of the wedding or engagement.

Thank you all for coming to celebrate my daughter’s engagement.
I am sure every father feels uneasy when he sees his little girl grow up and make decisions on her own, but I have a great feeling about this young man, and that makes this a whole lot easier.
I let her hand go when she learned to walk, taught her to ride a bike and drive a car. So you’d think I’d be ready for this next step. Meeting her fiancé helped make it easier—I liked him right away.
I respect that he came and asked me for her hand. But I insisted that he take the whole girl instead.
It is going to be hard to let her go—but I can’t imagine a better man to share her life with. Please raise your glasses and join her mother and me in celebrating this fantastic engagement!

If you’ve been following this you will know that I picked out my color scheme a milllion years ago. Originally I had decided on black and white damask with turquoise (aqua). As I’ve thought about the venue and imagined the decor I kept getting hung up on the linens. I want color on the linens and…

Let’s pre-make most of the alcoholic drinks and put them out on display with the desserts so we don’t have to worry about bar-tending. Keep some easy mixers on-hand (like vodka and juice) to make more drinks when the others run out.
A little birdie told me that Kaci was getting married! She found her prince with a mustache and she was ready to get hitched, and we were so excited to throw her a party to celebrate. We love Kaci. She’s one of the best parts of Lubbock and one of the most loyal friends a girl could ask…

This party just looks like a blast… Traditional birthday elements like cookies, balloons, cupcakes, and flowers are mixed in with fun & not-so-traditional retro items like disco balls, embellished roller skates, mad libs, and more. Even the pool deck area is the perfect backdrop for this incredibly bright birthday party.

First off, yes, I am making my own bridal shower games. My mom insisted I pick two. So I Googled and found “What’s In Your Purse” and (the cliche) “Do-it-yourself Bridal Shower Bingo“ that everyone can play while I open gifts. I’ve had zero luck finding a free Bingo generator online. The…
